The Kediya, first worn by pastoral communities in Kutch, Gujarat and still an intricate part of their lives today, is a rare silhouette preserved by Dhebariya Rabari artisans. Zero-waste in design, its flared frock shape, ties, and stand collar allow free movement and adapt to the wearer over time - originally made for children to grow into.

So intricate that only Rabari women can make it, the pattern has resisted replication even by master tailors. Once entirely hand-sewn, the Kediya is now most often stitched by machine, as the tradition of hand-stitching remains time-intensive and costly, with only a few artisans still practicing it.

We partnered with Geeta Rabari artisans to reimagine this heritage silhouette in handwoven Kala cotton and block prints. Character-rich and timeless, the Kediya carries generations of artistry forward - a comfortable, functional, and deeply meaningful piece of living heritage.
