What is Jamdani? Jamdani is a centuries-old weaving technique done on a traditional handloom, operated entirely by hand without electricity. The fabric is built from scratch as the weaver interlaces vertical (warp) and horizontal (weft) threads, line by line. Each motif or pattern is added separately using an extra weft thread, carefully inserted by hand. This slow, intricate process creates delicate designs that appear to float on the surface - almost like embroidery.
